Today was the day for Chloie's senior portraits and it was a little cloudy. I was hoping it would break and we would see the sun shine for a little while, but who needs the sun when you have a beautiful gal like Chloie! She was the just the 'sun-shine' we needed! Nicole & I swung by Miss T's house on Thursday to capture her newness. She had arrived only FIVE days before! Her momma called me on Monday and I don't remember much of the phone call after her telling me that she was 2 days old. Lol! (I was having a hard time processing that they were ALREADY home from the hospital and comfortably at home!) Wow! God is SO GOOD!

She is a beautiful addition to the Nelson family. Mr. P is loving his new baby sister and so are we! Thank you, Mom & Dad for opening your home to us once again. We love visiting and always feel at home! Love and blessings....

We love having the Potts family out for sessions. They are great people & Dad just so happens to be a very talented chef, who spoils us to dinner after their sessions! I know, we are SO blessed!! After a long week, we were rewarded with getting to spend the morning with a new RPT family. We have been anxiously awaiting getting our lens on this sweet little one. We have gotten quite a bit of ice and snow over the past two days and I have been chomping at the bit to get out in it. Nicole and I have been trying to think of something cool to do for Kenzi's 18 mo images, so when I asked this afternoon if they were up to making a drive to shoot outside in the snow she questioned me. Apparently the area East of us did not receive the kind of white love that we have here. I laugh remembering her tone, do you think it is sticking? When she & Justin got out of the truck they were in disbelief. The snow didn't start accumulating until they were on our dirt road! Crazy, but so worth the drive! Here are a few of the sweet shots. Thank you Lord for the beautiful backdrop! For me, it is the best visual reminder of your grace falling from heaven above...

M & D teamed up to bring these two out to celebrate their birthdays. Miss T just lost her very first tooth the night before and was proud to show off the hole that remains. :) KK is very jealous! lol!

Little Miss A doesn't sit still for a moment and knew exactly how to change sets around the studio, just ask! We couldn't help doing everything she asked! She is just too stinkin' cute! And to hear her ask for candy, just makes you melt.

Isn't he beautiful....Logan and Jess brought out the newest member of their family last night to capture his sweetness. (It was a very crazy day for us around here and I thank you both for your patience throughout the whole ordeal.) As you all know, Logan and Jess are very special to us and so this was an honor for me as a friend and photog. As I was editing these images, I just kept thinking that this is the closest glimpse most of us will ever get to beholding an angel while in our human form. In their purest sense, recently with our Father, and unfooled around with; A baby, a sweet blessing from above. And until you have one of your own, I truly don't think you can understand how much you are truly loved by Him. Now you both know.

First of all I want to apologize for being late on my posts. My father in law has been in the hospital all week and we have been traveling back and forth to Muskogee. Needless to say, I have fallen short of my editing goals. But the Lord is taking care of him and hopefully he will be back at home tomorrow afternoon.

Halloween Trunk-or-Treat in Stuart

As a community courtesy, I will occasionally post information about what is going on around our town. I was contacted earlier last week from a friend/client about a Trunk-or-Treat that his church is sponsoring for Halloween. These are always so much fun and a great, safe way for our kiddos to get their sweets. Here is a note from Kelley Benson, the pastor at the Church of Christ in Stuart, explaining the event...

On Saturday, October 31st, we are having a trunk or treat in the parking lot at the church from 5pm-8pm or until the candy runs out. Bring your cars/trunks or pickup beds to church and pass out candy to the kids, and enjoy some games, hot cocoa, and popcorn while you're there. Having your trunks/pickup beds decorated would be wonderful but is not necessary. If you don't want to decorate your trunks, don't let that discourage you from coming. If anybody would like to volunteer for that position please contact Kelley. Please come out and support this and let the town of Stuart know how much we care about our kids.

Things I learned about Hilary:
1. If she were my child, I would do anything possible to make her smile! She has the most beautiful smile :)
2. She is shy...at first, then her sweetness will knock you over.

4. She can be sassy, with a little nudging.
5. She is afraid of FISH! Yes, which make the pond shots that much more AMAZING and a testament to her strength!

It was such a pleasure spending Friday afternoon with Hilary and her Mom. We had so much fun and laughed the whole session. You couldn't help yourself. The Hokit family spent the afternoon with us on Sunday. Mom & Dad and all 5 boys! Yep, count 'em up. I have to say, I was a little nervous about having 5 boys in the house at one time. This coming from a Mom of 1 girl. lol! I was blown away by these kiddos. So much fun and they all worked the lens. Little man was so in love with his big brothers. It was so sweet to see. I know he will have a lot of protection through his years.

I am a Ballerina!

All I heard last year was how KK wanted to be a ballerina. I made her take tap and told her that if she stayed with it and proved to me that she could see it through, then this year she could take ballet. I can still hear her now, "But Mom, I am a ballerina, NOT a tap dancer!" lol! Well, she kept her end of the bargain, and so did I. And just for the record, I think she makes a beautiful ballerina, or tap dancer, or construction worker. Whatever God intends for her to be, I know she will shine. And I thank Him for trusting us with her for this brief moment. I love you, ballerina girl.

While up in Maine this past August, I found out my cousin was wanting to break onto the modeling scene. In need of a portfolio, I offered to help a cousin out. You photog's know that it was so painful to be in a new setting with a beautiful gal 'wanting' to take pictures! lol! How could I resist that! We ended up having to do a couple of mini sessions on two different days, one land and one water session. They had some beautiful locations, just minutes from the camp. There is this age that all of our children hit, the one when we as parents are trying to hold onto their youth, but start seeing glimpses of their future. I felt that big time with this session. Mr. B is growing up, but you can still see his love for his Momma in those instances where he forgets we are watching and then the guard goes back up. It is such a precious and important time. Okay, so I am a little behind schedule this year....here is the much awaited news on the 2010 Senior Scholarship Program. I know there are several of you who have contacted me concerning this information, so wait no longer!! Here are the details!!

If you know a graduating senior who has gone above and beyond and is deserving of FREE Portrait Session and Collection, a graduate who has unique talents or a special gift to share, we'd love to hear about them! We at RPT Photography feel it is important to reward those graduating seniors who are making a difference.We are proud to announce the beginning of our 2009-2010 Scholarship Program. To nominate your son or daughter, teammate, sister or brother, classmate, niece or nephew, best friend, granddaughter or grandson, or family friend, please write an essay (a few paragraphs will do) telling us why we should choose your nominee. The only thing we ask is that your nominee be a 2010 graduating senior, in McAlester or surrounding areas. Be sure to include your contact information! We will be accepting nominations through December 1st. Nominations should be submitted via email to rptphotography@yahoo.com or you can mail them to us at P.O. Box 142, Stuart, OK, 74570.We will be awarding 3 scholarships. Each candidate will receive Collection ONE, valued at $359. Winners will be announced on our blog on January 1st. Those selected will be contacted by our studio to set up your session. Sessions must be completed during the months of January or February.

Mr. M stopped by on Friday afternoon to take a few shots while Sissy was in school. We regreted not having her there, cause he did not find any of us very funny! lol! I am sure we looked ridiculous to a two year old. We tried everything! The shot up above was him doing his gorilla imatation, which got one of the few giggles of the day. Sweet, sweet! Isn't she the sweetest little thing! We fell in love with Miss J and her Mom & Dad. They are such a beautiful family. I had the joy of meeting them last year when they were expecting their sweet bundle. But Miss J just makes this package complete. What a blessing she is and such a little ham. Saturday we got to hang out with a family, full of fun and laughter! I always love sessions where there is a ton of both! I was so happy when Michelle called to get her girls in before Heather heads off to college. I had the pleasure of shooting her senior portraits in April and it was SO much FUN! I didn't think I would get the opportunity to shoot them again so quickly, but here they are! YEAH!!

We started indoors, cause it was so stinkin' hot, but knew we HAD to brave the heat to get some outdoor shots. They were quite the troopers, including Mom, who helped Nykki hold the diffuser. Well, the first one was for me...lol...Had a little session tonight with KK on the set for a project we will be doing over the next few weeks. (More details will follow on this as the project unfolds and comes to completion.) But I wanted to post a few images for my Mom's who will be participating. I am loving the white on white!! A special thanks to my wonderful husband who has a loving eye when shooting his girls. Just like the rest of you, I don't love to be photographed. Last Thursday we got to enjoy Mr. R in all of his newness. He came to visit us at only 7 days new. It is always so much fun and awe inspiring to get my hands on them when they are this tiny. Cooper and his little bro came out to celebrate his 5th birthday and bubbas 1st. It was Friday evening and I guess we were all just feeling a bit goofy. Cooper was a bit nervous and had this blinking thing going on. Along with a million different smiles to match his nerves. And then lil brother just didn't want to have anything to do with 'taking pictures'. He would just wander through the studio and we would be like "Cooper! Go sit by bubba! Hurry!!" I haven't laughed so hard in years!! Thank you Dad and Mom for all your help, and jokes! We are definitely going to film the next session! lol!

And I don't know what it is with 5 year olds. I thought it was just KK, but apparently they all want to have a cake to take pictures with. It isn't fair that the 1 year olds get to and they don't. I think all my 1st birthday babies have been going through growth spurts! They have all been VERY tired during their sessions and we are having to work HARD to get them to smile! Either that or we are going to have to come up with some new tricks, lol! The Lord has blessed us with a new family in our community and we finally got to spend some time with them this week when they came out to celebrate the birth of their new baby girl. Our coach at Stuart and his lovely wife, just welcomed home their first child. He is quite a handsome little man. Being a coach, we had to get some sports shots in. His room has a sports theme too, so these will look so great in there. We shot him on a basketball, football, and then with his ball and mit. Friday afternoon was not the greatest time for a senior session. It was thundering and lightening with a little rain. We tried to get outside for a few shots, but the Lord had other plans. It was way too windy, so we gave up and decided to get together on a future day to do those. Hopefully, we can get Mom in a few shots then!
